Today we’re sharing another real relocation story from our community, this time it’s Alex, a Product Lead. We asked him to tell us about his relocation journey.
Alex is a product leader with experience at major tech companies and in an international startup focused on building commercial electric vehicles. He has always worked in traditional employment, not as a freelancer or business owner.
He relocated to Finland in July 2023 with a Blue Card after receiving a job offer from the Finnish office of an international company. The process went so smoothly that, as Alex says, he didn’t experience any difficulties at all:
“In Finland, everything is organized very conveniently and simply.”
His first tax card was arranged by the relocation support company, although he now realizes he could have obtained it himself without any issues.
⭐️ Alex says this about working through EOR:
“EOR allowed me to change jobs while staying in Finland, and that’s a great benefit. When you meet all the requirements, it expands the list of potential employers, especially in uncertain times like these”
He now works for an international company, and thanks to EOR he can continue living in Finland with local benefits and stability. The toughest part after the move wasn’t the paperwork, it was getting used to the Finnish prices and the climate 😅
⭐️ His key advice for those considering relocation via EOR:
“Don’t be afraid! Everything here is simple and comfortable»
If you are a designer, marketer, analyst, UX architect, you have just as much chance of moving to Europe as a software developer. The most important thing is to stay open to new formats: remote work, EOR, and international opportunities.
